My father-in-law Jim had an amazing life story. He was only 14 when he walked from his birthplace in Burma, all the way to India, when they were invaded during WW2. He lost his family and his home. After a life at sea travelling the world, it struck me as particularly cruel that he should then become trapped in this recurring, sad, childhood memory as he negotiated dementia.
